A tour of the environment


Starting Trinc-Prolog

You can start Trinc-Prolog in several ways:

The Integrated Development Environment (IDE) of Trinc-Prolog is then started. The main window is:

This window is called the main window in the remainder of the online help.

The main toolbar

The toolbar in the main window contains buttons for controlling and debugging programs. To find out what a button does, point to it for a moment and and a popup hint is displayed. For all the buttons, except the 'Replay' and 'Record' buttons, there is a corresponding menu item, if there is a keyboard shortcut for the button then that keyboard shortcut is shown in the text of the menu item.

Context menus

Many windows in Trinc-Prolog have context menus, these menus contain appropriate commands for the window you are working with. Context menus are displayed by clicking the right mouse button over a window. The window control of the main window that displays the trace of a program has the following context menu:
